The printer has a 2.7 inch coloured LCD and the front panel with a movable joint of 90 degrees upward. Touch screen feature is not available in this product but an adjacent touch panel is offered to the users. XP 640 will make a colour copy in 23 seconds which other printers might do in 28.6 seconds.  It can scan the hi-resolution scan in just 41.6 seconds. Quality of Printing and scanning

Epson XP 640 is known for producing average quality text pages and documents. The letter and forms are not sharp. The text looks blurred and heavier with curved edges as compared to various other models. On the contrary XP, 640 produces high quality of graphics printing on both plain and glossy photo papers. Colours are very well sorted with smooth textures with fine detailing. The only failure was that detailing of the very dark shadow areas which looked flat.

Scanned quality was totally impressed with minute detailing even in the shadow areas of coloured photos. Colors seemed accurate with very fine details captured by the scanner. However greyscale scans showed some rough edges in the texts.
